The satisfying sense of accomplishment upon completing a project goal can lead to feeling like the work is done: but a project isn't a success until it is utilized. If you would like others to get involved in your endeavors, promotion is the sibling of creation.

The Ready Room Microgallery

The Ready Room Microgallery

The Ready Room Microgallery was my fifty-square-foot space at the Artisan's Asylum, serving as a storage space for my scrap metal, as well as a promotional space for my art. The curtains below hid my organized scrap metal connection. There was even a tiny space for a desk in the back if you stooped to get in and out.

Displaying sculptures made from repurposed steel in a makerspace isn't as simple as it seems: in order for people to notice the work, it needs to not blend into the busy makerspace background. I created a large metal framework to hang fabric from, although it was strong enough to support me climbing around it for installs and updates.

Ready Room Shows

The Ready Room had a lot of shows: while most of them were to showcase my sculpture, I had a few group shows there too.

Are you promoting an event?

Making something amazing is half the work - the other half is getting the word to the people who want to know. I can help you.
